In Historic Vote, UN Declares Access to Water a Fundamental Right
By atm.admin - Posted on July 29th, 2010

Aroroy town in Masbate fears that their basic right to water is now claimed by mining company Filminera Resources. The photo above shows the primary water source of Aroroynons which is now owned by the mining company as one of the perks given by the Mining Act of 1995 or RA 7942. However, the United Nations General Assembly has recently declared for the first time that access to clean water and sanitation is a fundamental human right. Who has the right over this clean water? Human beings who depend on this or mining companies who exploit and pollute and leave the area devastated. WATER IS A BASIC HUMAN RIGHT!
