Seabed quarrying is detrimental to coastal and marine ecosystems of our country. Scientific evidence shows the irreversible impacts of this destruction. There is also increased likelihood of intergenerational socio-economic effects of this activities on the livelihoods of our coastal communities. Moreover, seabed quarrying inside our municipal waters violated the preferential right given to local communities with priority to municipal fisherfolks in using these waters.
