Catholic Church’s Publication on Mining Struggles Across the World Launched

As the Season of Creation ends this October, Alyansa Tigil Mina (ATM) proudly announces the launch of the Catholic Peacebuilding Network’s “Approaches to Mining.” This publication features eight case studies from around the world, highlighting the Catholic Church’s role in struggles against mining.
ATM deeply appreciates CPN’s initiative to showcase mining resistance efforts from different countries. This online publication serves as a valuable resource to inform and strengthen movements campaigning against destructive mining operations and extractive projects.
The online resource features a case study submitted by ATM about the Tampakan Copper-Gold Mine Project and highlights the Diocese of Marbel's important role in resisting large-scale mining in the region.
This publication celebrates the anti-mining campaign led by the Diocese of Marbel, together with communities, civil society groups, and social movements. Their efforts have prevented large-scale mining operations for three decades.
